Presidential Candidates, Including Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, to Accept Crypto for Campaigns (CoinDesk)

CoinDesk highlighted the developing relationship between political campaigns and crypto donations, in a recent article about Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who will accept presidential campaign donations in Bitcoin.

"Officially, my campaign is accepting Bitcoin," Suarez said. "This is a process of developing technologies that are going to create democratizing opportunities for wealth creation and are not manipulated by a human being's ulterior motives, political goals, etc." he said. (CoinDesk)

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was the first to announce that his presidentail campaign would be accepting cryptocurrency, at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in May. (CoinTelegraph) Following suit, just two days later, presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy “flashed a QR code while on stage, which, when scanned, would redirect users to a payment gateway that offers various payment options for donations, including BTC and satoshis — the smallest denomination of Bitcoin.” (CoinTelegraph)
